Meet Dr Prajna Singh
Qualifications: BChD (UP, 2017-2021).
With a gentle approach and a true passion for creating confident smiles, Dr Singh is dedicated to making every dental visit a positive experience—especially for her youngest patients. As a caring and compassionate dentist, she combines clinical excellence with a warm, friendly demeanour that puts children and adults alike at ease.
Dr Singh has a special interest in paediatric dentistry, focusing on early dental care, prevention, and building lifelong healthy habits. She believes in the power of patience, education, and trust. This ensures that children feel safe, heard, and even excited about taking care of their smiles.
Alongside paediatric dentistry, Dr Singh is also passionate about aesthetic dentistry. She helps patients of all ages achieve natural, confident smiles through modern, minimally invasive techniques. Her keen eye for detail and commitment to artistry make her treatments both beautiful and functional.
Whether easing a child’s first visit to the dentist or helping someone rediscover their smile, Dr Singh brings warmth, skill, and heart to every appointment.
Dr Singh earned her Bachelor of Dentistry degree from the University of Pretoria in 2021. After her graduation, she completed her community service year at Emmaus Hospital in Central Drakensberg. There, she provided vital dental care to the community. This experience strengthened her commitment to making quality oral healthcare accessible, especially for children and families.
Outside of the practice, Dr Singh enjoys painting, baking, and spending time outdoors. Whether she is experimenting with a new recipe or exploring nature, she finds joy in creativity and connection—values she brings into her dental practice every day.
Meet the Team
Maryna van der Walt
Practice Manager
Maryna van der Walt was born and raised in Empangeni and has been working in the dentistry field since 2011, gaining experience with several wonderful doctors along the way. In 2022, she was given the opportunity to study Practice Management, which she proudly completed with a Higher Certificate in 2023. Long before that, though, she had already been fulfilling the role of practice manager.
Maryna truly enjoys meeting new patients, but her heart always warms at seeing our long-standing patients who have been part of our journey over the years. A good cup of coffee and some new stationery gadgets are the way to win her over!
Maryna takes great pride in my work, and she is deeply passionate about people. Being a very social person with strong interpersonal skills, she values building meaningful connections both inside and outside the practice.
Jeanett Mooi
Dental Assistant
Jeanett Mooi is a dedicated dental assistant with over 13 years of hands-on experience in the dental field. Known for her calm and empathic nature, she strives to make every patient feel safe, understood, and at ease—especially during surgical procedures, where reassurance and trust are key.
Throughout her career, she’s had the privilege of assisting in a wide range of treatments. Jeanett brings not only technical expertise but a patient-first approach to every appointment, ensuring comfort and care are never compromised.
In addition to holding a Higher Certificate in Dental Assisting, she also completed additional training as an Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner. Jeanette is also fluent in seven languages, which allows her to connect and communicate with patients from diverse backgrounds more effectively.
Whether she’s assisting chairside, supporting the team, or helping patients understand their treatment plans, Jeanette always aims to bring calm, clarity, and compassion to the dental experience.
Octavia Xaba
Practice Assistant
Octavia Xaba was born and raised in Ntambanana, and in 2008 moved to Empangeni with her husband and children. The following year, in 2009, she started working at this practice and has been part of the team ever since. She plays an important role in ensuring that the environment is welcoming, comfortable, and well cared for. Always ready to lend a hand, she supports many different tasks throughout the practice.
If she weren’t working in dentistry, Octavia would have loved to be a teacher, as she truly enjoys working with children. Her kids are her everything, and her faith and time at church are very close to her heart.
In her free time, Octavia loves being creative and often makes traditional beaded jewellery. She has a bubbly personality, enjoys laughing, and tries to bring positivity wherever she goes.
